How Madama Made It Happen

The couple had their hearts set on an authentic Italian wedding and, in particular, a formal religious ceremony, to honour Italian family heritage. The Madama team secured the perfect venues: for the wedding service, the cathedral in the heart of Monopoli, a breath-taking medieval coastal town in Puglia; and for the celebrations afterwards, our Masseria Puglia, an elegant farmhouse venue in the Puglian countryside, the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance.

We helped the couple with all the practicalities and legal paperwork related to the religious wedding, attended their meetings with the priest, and guided them through every other detail, from music (a graceful trio of harp, organ and violin at the church, and later a jazz band performing classic Italian repertoire) to flowers (a simple, elegant theme based around hydrangea and eucalyptus) to transport – including two vintage Italian cars to deliver bride and groom (separately of course!) to the cathedral in Monopoli’s old town.

With 150 guests arriving from as far away as Australia, it was crucial that everyone felt welcome, settled and comfortable throughout their stay, and Madama helped manage every detail. We arranged pre and post-wedding-day parties for the guests, featuring typical local dishes and wines. On the wedding morning we created a pop-up beauty salon for the guests at their accommodation, complete with a team of hair stylists and make-up artists. And we even arranged all-day entertainment and childcare for the 22 children including in the wedding party!
